Hautes-Pyrénées self-catering accommodation, 8/9 guests

Our 17thC property, Cami de Bidale, offers high quality accommodation in the Hautes-Pyrénées, with four en-suite bedrooms  sleeping 8/9 guests in comfort.

Run as a  chambres d'hote (B&B) for much of the year, the main house, Bidalet,  is available for exclusive weekly rental during the peak summer period (mid-July-August), and at certain other times upon request.  

A warm welcome awaits.  We provide quality bedding and towels, toiletries, essential kitchen ingredients and a selection of regional wines, to ensure that your holiday starts from the moment that you arrive!

Accommodation

The house has a spacious entrance hall featuring an imposing stone staircase.  There is an internet terminal and a washroom here for your convenience. 

There is a large square salon, featuring oak beams and an open stone fireplace, with French doors leading onto the main terrace.  There is a comfortable sitting area and the room is stocked with games, books and both UK and French satellite TV.   

Next door is the kitchen, a more rustic room centred around an oak monastery table and  a large open fireplace.  The kitchen itself has been fully refitted, and includes a 5-burner gas hob, electric oven, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave.  There is a  washing machine and dryer in the adjoining building.

Bedrooms

The bedrooms have been individually designed, and Occitan names connote their distinct characteristics: Solana, Rívatel, Argila  and Cól-Ros.  Each room has an en-suite bath and/or shower room, including a washbasin and WC.

With the exception of Cól-Ros, a double, the rooms can be configured as either twins or king-size doubles.   Solana is the largest room and can be set up as a triple if required.   Rivatél and Argila have connecting doors, making them ideal for families.

House Facilities

Set in acres of pastures and woodland, Cami de Bidale’s outstanding natural environment is a haven for wildlife.   In the garden, mature trees provide welcome shade for the lawns and terraces, and natural spring water cascades into the pond.

There is a superb solar-heated swimming pool, offering panoramic views of the Pyrenean chain.  The pool has a surrounding sun terrace and is protected by an alarm, in conformity with French law.

In the garden you can enjoy boules or badminton, and there is a covered area for table tennis.  Many guests bring their own bicycles and the spacious garage features bike storage and workshop facilities. Road and mountain bikes can also be hired from nearby shops.

Cuisine

We can direct keen cooks to the village markets and local farm producers, and even provide regional recipes to try.  If on the other hand you fancy a break from self-catering, there are a number of good restaurants we can recommend within a short driving distance.   

We are also happy to prepare four-course evening meals and BBQs for you, by prior arrangement.
